I had to do a few double takes when I stumbled upon these beauties. Isabelle de Borchgrave creates historical dress creations out of paper. PAPER! The one below is inspired by Marie de Medici from 1555. Her works are on display in a show called “Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgravea” at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco.
This dress is based off of a Charles Frederick Worth dress from 1898.
Her works are about “loving something, absorbing it, and giving it back. My goal is to find myself in front of a dress that gives me the same shock I got at the Metropolitan.” Isabelle de Borchgrave
If you are in San Francisco. You should definitely go check it out. The show is on exhibit until 5th June.
Please visit Katherine today at the shop. Enjoy this gorgeous sunshine in Portland everyone!
