Hello Weekend!

17 06 2012

Happy Father’s day to all the papas out there.  Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend.  Thank you so much to Brehan for doing a trunk show at our studio.  Thank you to Caitlin for such a fun day and to Sally for bringing lots of laughter.  I love hanging out with my two dear friends so much.  We are lucky to have lovely little cocoon to create beautiful things.  Brehan’s pieces will be at our space today.  Please visit beautiful Caitlin today from noonish until 5ish.

Here is a little inspiration on this lovely Sunday.

Oh, yum. Vraiment beaucoup, yum… This beach house located in South Africa has all the components of the dreamy summer house: the exterior cladding and shutters made out of eucalyptus lattes, the ocean view and outdoors spaces or the simply furnished indoor space. I think my heart just skipped beat. For real.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.

Beautiful Decay

2 04 2012

We found several abandon buildings at the coast.  They are so beautiful and fascinating.  Always wondered of what happened to the people that once occupied their lives there.  And why they allowed their buildings to be abandoned.  It is also eerie and ghostly to see nature reclaiming her space.

Wishing you a lovely Monday.

Please visit Caitlin today!

31 03 2012

Caitlin has giving me a day off to run away.  It has been so lovely to have our dear C sharing the studio with me.  We have had such a good time hanging out and creating together.  Please swing by and visit her today.  She will be at our studio from noon until 6 pm.  We will be closed on Sunday.

Our sanctuary.  It is full of light and so dreamy.

Half of the space is for our show room, which you could purchase all the wonderful treasures.  Another half is our work area where we sketch, drape, sew, work on our website and just hanging out.  We are also thrill to have a corner where we could shoot our own photos.  Everything that we need in one tiny space.  Perfect!

My new obsession on these amazing Japanese tapes.

Our work area is filled with inspiration images, books, treasures, and of course colourful art supplies.

Black and white dress for spring. Thank you sweet Iris for being our IDOM girl.

Asymmetrical tunic with volume layering.

Thanks Caitlin for letting me have a day off!  We are located at 811 East Burnside Suite 213, Portland, OR 97214.  +1 503 477 6818

The studio is on the second floor facing Burnside Street.  Visit our lovely Caitlin soon.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

My little world

13 03 2012

Here are bits and pieces of my little cocoon.

I love being on the second floor.  The light is lovely and I could watch the world goes by.  Plus it makes the studio feels more special that you have to know about little idom cocoon to come by.  A bit like hidden magical secret.

New Beginning

3 03 2012

I was so nervous yesterday.  Fretting that nobody will show up and that the space won’t be good enough, etc…  What if it doesn’t work this time around.  All the fear and all the worry just took over my body.  Thank goodness that all the dear friends showed up and supported the little label that could.  Thank you to B for surprising me and buying first item of the day.  And then give it to me as a good luck treat.  Then I met so many of my lovely neighbors, Rachel from Haunt and Todd from Black Box Gallery.  They made me feel so welcomed.  Thank you.  Later on my partner in crime Caitlin showed up and made everything even better.  All of my dear friends came by, Heather, Nic, Marc, Gemma, Jackie, Velia, and Corey.  Plus Heather brought me a beautiful plant and little darling Gemma entertained us all with her charming self.  She was our mini model for Saint James.  Thank you for all the calls, texts, and emails.  You made me feel so loved.  Thank you so much for making this girl happy as a clam.

Little G and her new mini Saint James piece paired with IDOM printed scarf.  Thank you Nic for taking home fun pieces.

Kiddo Saint James

Grown up Saint James.  Made in France.

Beautiful flowers from Erica and Kate via Garnish on Alberta.  Designed and made by Beka of Origin Flowers also on Alberta.  Thank you so much for your kindness.

My cozy work space with all the art supplies, inspirations and my favourite books.

Heading off to the studio soon.  I’ll be there all day until 6 pm.  Hope to catch up with you lovelies.

Thanks very much again friends for the delightful first day.

1st Day!

2 03 2012

The floors has been mopped, windows are clean and new pieces are in.  The studio is open today and through out the weekend.  Caitlin stayed late last night and helped me beautified the space.  She is one great partner in crime!  We are going to stay late tonight for First Friday along with our wonderful neighbors at 811 East Burnside Building.  Nervous and excited at the same time.  Hope to see you lovelies soon.

Graphic designed by my amazing talented friend, Lance.  Thank you Lance for your beautiful work!  He is also the one who came up with our logo and most of the graphic that is IDOM.  What a wonderful omen to have Lance design our first graphic for the studio.  Hooray!

Can’t wait to catch up with everyone.

Wishing you a delightful weekend.

Love At First Sight

11 01 2012

I adore this Amsterdam apartment.  It is lovely and light.  Of course I’m a big fan of combining ultra modern white space with global inspired influence along with interesting texture of prints and popped of  vibrant colours.

Found via 79 ideas.

I especially love the gorgeous kitchen with the raw cupboards against the white surfaces.  Also intrigued by all the lovely fun details through out the apartment.  This exquisite interior is motivating me to get my sweet studio up and running.  My friend Miles said “I thought you were going to take one week sabbatical from the closing of the shop and all the madness that we just endured.”  All I could say is “have you met me?”  I’m a girl who can’t stay still for too long.  Off to do more painting in my new cocoon.  Ta, ta for now.

Dreaming of Coco

10 01 2012

My father’s mother aka “fancy grannie” has an amazing collection of handbags, clothes, and jewels.  Her most cherished treasures are from Coco Chanel, YSL, Dior and Hermes.  Growing up I was more interested in modern cutting edge fashion from Japan.  I found grannie’s treasures to be beautiful, but a bit more sophisticated for my taste as a teenager.  Well, my tune has forever changed when I went to university.  I discovered fashion history, fascinated by the ideas behind it all and could always related to the struggle of the great masters.  Their brilliant ideas and creations were just amazingly beautiful, wonderful and meaningful.  Today I’m dreaming of Coco.  Her apartment is magnificent and dynamic.  Just as I imagined of a kind of person she was.  Please read a wonderful article from The Coveteur here.

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.
