Lovely Detail

27 09 2012

I chopped off my hair last January and donated it to Cancer Society.  It was one of the most freeing experience.  I was so attached to my long hair.  After we closed the 23rd street shop.  I decided to physically let go of this attachment.  I am so happy with my shorter do now.  Less work and I feel a lot lighter.  I came across this image of sweet hair detail via Rodarte A/W 2012 Ready to Wear.  I might have to do something similar to my short hair.  It is lovely.

Monday Love

13 08 2012

As you probably figure out by now.  I’m a girl who adores volume.  I love anything with interesting textures and exaggerating shapes.  I also like playing with the contrast of a tailored piece pairing with a more sculptural piece.  I am dreaming of this look.  So perfect!

Enjoy this hot sunshine everyone!  I’m a happy camper with this heat.

Drooling over new minä perhonen lookbook.  Someday I’ll be able to own one of the dresses and use their fabric for IDOM collection.  If you ever find yourself in Tokyo or Kyoto.  You should definitely visit their boutiques.  The boutiques are charming and the people are lovely.

Please visit Evangelina today.  Enjoy the Autumn sunshine.

Haute Couture is truly an amazing ways of constructing garments.  A dying art, really…  Only few percentage of us in the world could ever afford these devine pieces.  Hopefully the craft will continue to live on to the next generation.  One can only hope.

The Traditional and The Modern

20 07 2010

Japan has been one of the fascinating places that I ever visited.  Many great childhood memories as well as lots of fun adventures.  The people and the country definitely has influenced my sensibility.  Architectural and modern yet traditional and comfortable at the same time.  These editorial below described Japan and its dichotomy so well.

I love this image.  The country can be ultra modern.  There is still sense of respect for tradition and history.

I always come back to the states with too many magazines from home and Japan.  Sorry I have these tear sheets for a while.  Can’t find the source.  Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.
