Our look book!

17 10 2010

Miles and Evangelina surprised me with actual book for our S/S 10 look book.  It is so dreamy and perfect.  I have been looking at it several times a day for the past week.  Miles Johnson designed the book and its graphic.  His wife/my business partner Evangelina Owens art directed.  Thank you to M+E for your exquisite work.  You made me so happy!

The orange background on the book are photos taken by Evangelina from Brazil.  I adore the texture and its movement.  Quite brilliant since this collection is all about dancing and human forms.  Many thanks to our incredible team for this fantastic collaboration!

Fantastic Dresses

26 08 2010

It is exciting that we finally received more dresses today.  The production run has been effected by the riot in Bangkok.  Everyone had a hard time getting any work done when the city was on fire.  We are grateful that our team of sewers, friends and family are okay.  It will take time for the city to recovered.  Anyhow the lovely dresses finally made it to the states.  Hope you will enjoy them.

Adoration, $232.00.

Rite of Spring, $284.00.

Eyes of the Goddess, $342.

Song Skirt, $184.00.  These skirts also come in black.

Tangled Night, $342.

I’m off on a holiday with my parents and B.  We all needed some actual relaxing time.  B and I haven’t traveled or have real time off together for over 3 years.  It is a small sacrificed carving your own path.  We can’t wait to explore Montana.  My dear friend/amazing business partner Evangelina will be blogging while I’m on the little adventure.  Can’t wait to have her on the blog.  Wishing you a brilliant almost weekend!

23rd Ave Celebration

15 07 2010

We are so excited that the 23rd Ave road construction finished early.  It was challenging, but worth the difficulty.  The street is now without potholes and the sidewalks are so much better.  Our street had a celebration last Saturday with fashion shows, street fair, pet adoption, roller derby and much more.  Here are some images from the show.

Our IDOM girls, Amanda to the left, Ruth, Iris, and Cory.

Cool shoes

Wonderful Iris is doing her own hair and makeup.

Everyone were up early the next day from our Friday night show Up In the Air.  We have an amazing team.  Josh to the left, Evangelina and Cory.

Josh is Evangelina’s brother and Cory is his wife.  He is an engineer and she is a scientist.  Cory is such a trooper.  She was a perfect model for our little label.  Smart and beautiful!

Our beautiful girls are to the left waiting for the show.

Our Iris was so good.  She volunteered to walk with the dog for an adoption program plus carried our big IDOM bag.  She did great!

Iris models an Imagined Wing dress.

Brilliant Ruth wears Acts of Light Dress from current season S/S 10.

Cory did a perfect job.  Her first show ever.  She wears Shadow dress also from S/S 10.

Amanda was so fantastic with the dress from Up in the Air show.  I decided to have her modeled the new Desert dress from A/W 10.  The rest of the dresses are now in the shop.

Thanks very much to our IDOM girls!  Many thanks to Evangelina and Caitlin for being such good partners.  Thanks to our in-house photographers, Josh and Miles.  All photos by Miles Johnson.  It takes a village to make this little label works.  Thanks very much again everyone!

More pics from Up In The Air

14 07 2010

Thanks very much everyone for your sweet kind messages yesterday.  I got some sleep and life seems a lot better today.  I learned how to file a police report yesterday.  Then waited for quite sometime to get my window replaced in the afternoon.  I ended up sitting outside in the sunshine reading and drinking strawberry smoothie.  It turned out to be a relaxing afternoon.  It was a nice surprise.  Here are some more beautiful images from Up In The Air.

Lindsay from Sole Struck (aka Shoe Goddess) borrowed some pieces from IDOM and paired them with their great shoes.  Thanks Lindsay!

This is Shadow dress paired with Sole Stuck shoes.

Shadow Dress

28 05 2010

I never thought of how much joy knowing that shipping companies are finally opened and working again in Thailand.  I was so happy to received a box from my parents filled with new pieces for summer.  Many thanks to my wonderful sewers for making such beautiful clothes even during the hardest time in Thai history.  I’m pleased to report that our production team are doing fine.  Everyone is trying to recovered from the riot and hoping to rebuild the city as soon as possible. Here is a Shadow Dress from S/S 10 collection.  Enjoy!

The best part about the dress is the draped back.  It was fun for me to play around with the idea of having something dramatic on the center back.  Hope to see you in the shop soon.

Styled by Katie,  Hair+Makeup by Lori.

Modeled by Erin Dierking.

Night Chant

8 05 2010

I was not going to put this lovely “Night Chant” dress into production.  As a designer it is hard to navigate which style will do well in the shop.  It was helpful to have my friends Jackie and Evangelina confirmed that this dress will probably be well loved.  Okay, so I am sending off the pattern and the sample to my wonderful team of sewers.  Hopefully this dress will be in the shop by July.  Perfect piece for warm summer months.

Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

Lovely Jewels

27 04 2010

Here is another lovely necklace.  The round clay beads were made with Thai traditional method.  Also naturally dyed.

This piece reminds me of the ocean.  The round clay beads in cream, blue, and brown feel a bit like coral.  Of course the cluster of various shapes make me want to go snorkeling again.  This piece is $72.

These heart shaped rings are back.  It was very difficult to get them this time around.  My friend who has a boutique in central Bangkok designed and had them made.  Her shop was closed for several weeks due to the protest.  We had to meet at the shop to get these rings in the middle of chaos.  Again if only these rings can tell you their story.  They are $38 each.

It is raining here today in Portland.  Hopefully the rain is making all the trees and flowers happy.  Thanks very much for reading.

Beautiful necklaces

26 04 2010

I finally finish all the necklaces.  They were a lot of fun to make.  Check them out.

I have been sewing this piece since I was back in Bangkok.  It took forever to do.  The zipper around the stones were difficult to work with.  I used zipper pulls on each side of the bib necklace to connect the string.  The wool felt is from my father via New Zealand.

Close up on stones and zipper detailing.  This piece is $242.

I was buying fabric and material for jewelry making on Sat 10th April in Bangkok.  I didn’t pay attention that the riot was getting so close to the market.  Only if these stones and beads could talk.  They certainly had a challenging night with me.  This even make them much more special to me.  Necklace $72.00.

Give us a ring if you would like to order anything that you see on the blog, 503.477.6818.  Enjoy your Monday!

Hooray to Spring!

25 04 2010

The weather in Portland has been sunny and lovely.  It is a pleasure to wake up to a blue sky.  When I returned from Bangkok the immigration officer told me that I was lucky to come back to warm sunny Portland.  He was right!  I don’t feel too much of the climate shock.  It has been such a treat to see the trees and the flowers in full bloom.  Enjoy the beautiful Sunday everyone.

New “Song” dress, $154.  I was wearing this sample every other day in Bangkok.  It is perfect dress for warm sunny weather.

This necklace is from Erica Weiner a jewelry designer from New York.  This collection was found by our new IDOM partner/buyer Evangelina Owens.  Salwa, Caitlin and I are very thrilled to have her on this adventure with us.  I promise to introduced her to you soon.  She will post more about Erica Wiener as well.  This necklace is $114.

More beautiful work from Erica Weiner.  You should really visit us and give these beauties a world.

My new favorite caftan “Spring Light”, $124.

Off to work.  Wishing you a happy sunny day.
