Goodbye, Portland. Hello Bangkok!

26 11 2009

I finally made it back to Bangkok.  The land of constant sunshine and amazing visual inspirations.  It is so refreshing to see so many interesting syles on the street.

It was exciting to be sitting in the plane and hearing Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Hindi being spoken.  I am back home to source some fabric and to get samples made for Autumn/Winter 2010.  Plus it has been rough couple months at the shop.  It is nice to let go of the business aspect part of my life for several weeks.

The economy in Asia has been improving tremendously.  People seem to not be living in fear here.  It is one thing that I miss most about the East.  There is this sence about living in the moment.  There are so much suffering and daily struggle here.  The population that are poor are beyond poor than in the West.  Yet, the attitude here is that let’s try to survive and make the best of today.  It is lovely to be back home.
