Spring Lovely Jewels from South America

18 03 2010

This lovely jewelry collection is designed by Asta Rockwood from Lithuania.  The pieces are made from Tagua nut.  The Tagua palm trees can be found in humid mountainous zones of Columbia, Ecuador, and Panama.  It has cellular structure similar to elephant ivory.  It is known as the ivory of the vegetable world.   The rain forest crops are renewable.  Tagua nut promotes the use of raw resources from the jungle in a sustainable manner.  The artisans were paid with living wage to make these stylish pieces.

Necklaces are $42 for each piece.

The shapes of these bracelets are so sculptural.  They are $33 for each piece.

The chic earrings are $22 per pair.  Please phone us if you would like any of the pieces, 503.477.6818.  Or you can email us, modi@idomdesigns.com.  Better yet come by the shop and say hello.  Enjoy your week everyone.
