Friday Inspiration

8 10 2010

Happy to report that we survived 2 days of moving our clothes and our props from one event to the next.  Now all we need is sometime to rest and sleep.  Thank you to everyone that stopped by the trunk show and the installation show.  It was fun catching up with you guys.  Many thanks to Solestruck and Lindsay for having us over.  We loved collaborating with you.  Now it is time for eye candy via Paris Fashion Week for S/S 11.  I’m a big fan of Gareth Pugh’s work.  Enjoy!

Flowing kimono shapes were cut from a nylon printed with aluminum to give an extraordinary two-way mirror effect. Scales of rubberized neoprene added a snaky futurism to tops and pants. Pugh pulled off a feat of cutting in tunics he called “modular,” the same front and back. And, keen as he was to avoid the sci-fi tag that has been continually attached to his clothes, he still showed sinuous silvery pieces that clung to the body like thirty-first-century armor.  It is inspiring to see a risk taker designer at work.  All photos courtesy of Style.com.
