create your own adventure with bunnies and handbags

8 08 2011

Every time we get new treats in the shop I start dreaming of styling new pieces with old pieces to create new looks and dream new dreams. We have some incredibly designed (by M, of course!) brass jewelry in the shop right now. Every piece invites adventure and timeless style. Combine brass bunny rings with a Jenny Yuen handbag, an Idom 2010 summer dress, and Melissa wedges and how could you not daydream yourself all the way to a beach in Rio or a park bench in Paris!

Come say hi and try on one of these amazing rings! The handbag is also available in white as well as we have several other style’s available in the store. Wishing everyone a dreamy week!

xoxo, idom

Sweet Treats

29 06 2011

We can’t get enough of vibrant colours from these tiny coconut beads.  I think it is wishful thinking that Portland will experience a real summer weather soon.  We love wearing these beauties as layer of bracelet.  Lots more new summer dresses, jewels and totes.

Architectural inspired hand loomed woven blouse.

Lots more new knit summer dresses.

I love any jewels on a larger scale.

Hand weaved fabric from eastern region of Thailand.  I converted the fabric into a tote.

Please stop by and visit us soon.

Lovely new tote

23 06 2011

I couldn’t ever get away with carrying a tiny pocket book.  I’ll forever be a tote carrying girl.  I often have many essentials that I need, mobile phone, sketch book, book, water, map, scarf, etc…  This tote is perfect for your everyday use and for your travel adventure.

I really enjoyed working with linen and leather this time around.  They are great combo for the sunny weather.

We love anything stripes at idom.  I couldn’t help, but add this stripe fabric as a lining.

Wishing you a brilliant Thursday.

Miss Lonelyhearts

20 01 2011

Fabulous handbags from Miss Lonelyhearts via New York designed by my lovely friend Jenny Yuen.  We can’t get enough of them.

All pieces are made in New York City.  Jenny is working with one of the two factories that are left in New York.  It is still owned by the same family for 3 generations.  It is nice to know that there still some handbags production here in the states.

Shot by E.  Styled by C and M.  Thank you gang for waking up early for our product shoot.

Leather, Textile, and Heart

9 09 2010

I took couple classes in hand bag making and shoe making in France when I was an exchange student.  It gave me a whole new insight of how difficult to make one pair of shoes or one wallet.  I haven’t played around with leather for a while.  Thought that it was time to work with different material.  Here are my new IDOM leather handbags.

I tried to carry smaller bag.  Unfortunately I’m a tote girl.  I often have sketch books, bills, food, magazines and everything else in my bag.  I surrendered to the fact that I’ll always be a pack rat.  Here is a perfect version of the tote.  I called it Everything Bag, $345.

Half moon handbag, $324.

Everywhere Olive Tote, $348.

I’m so happy to have the wider weaved hand loomed scarves back in the shop.  They are works of art.  Made by Thai cotton loomers in Northern region.  They are also naturally dyed by native plants.  $32 for each piece.

Printed hand loomed cotton scarves, $32 each piece.  Also from Northern region.

The heart shape vases are back.  They are designed by my friend Vichai.  We met at school in London.  He moved back to Bangkok.  He is now taking more interest in industrial and product design rather fashion.  These heart shape pieces are the last batch.  No more these lovelies after this run.  He and I have similar bad habit.  We get tired of reproducing the same thing over and over.  We often are on to something else after few months.  They are $36 each.

Heading off to work today.  Please stop by and say hello.  Many more amazing treasures in the shop.  Happy Thursday!

Jenny Yuen New Fall 08 Collection

16 11 2008

Many of you have asked me about the new Jenny Yuen Handbags.  Her new collection is quite exquisite.  I can’t wait to own one or maybe all pieces.  I adore her work.  Jenny and I met while we were designing for Twinkle.  We definitely bonded over the years of how crazy fashion industry can be.  We left it all behind to start our own businesses.  Now we are “pow wow” buddies over how hard it is to be an independent designers.  We really do keep telling each other that things will work out.  We just have to have hope and stay positive.  I truly treasure our friendship.

“Cleo Plum Shadow Puppet Print” from Jenny Yuen current collection.

This is such a unique and a very clever print.  It is so fantastic!  Got to have one soon!

“Esme”, “Cleo”, and “Amelie”

How I want to own them all!  An Amelie tote would be a perfect size for my next trip back to New York.

All Jenny Yuen hand bags are made in New York City.  She truly believes in supporting her fellow Americans.  There are not many handbag factories left in the states.  Go out and support your young American designers!

You can purchase Jenny Yuen handbags online HERE or come by IDOM.
